Hundreds of people in Bursa staged a march against the genocide happening in Palestine.
After the afternoon prayer in front of the Great Mosque of Bursa, hundreds gathered to show their support for Palestine. Citizens carrying Palestinian flags and banners supporting Gaza marched from the mosque to Fomara Square under the leadership of the Bursa Lovers of the Prophet Association. Hamza Velioğlu, who made a press statement here, said, “For nearly a century, the systematic occupation and massacre carried out by the Zionist occupying gang against the Palestinian people and lands have continued. The occupying Zionists, who act with the aim of an all-out genocide, are expanding the occupation every day, desecrating our first qibla, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with their filthy boots, disregarding human rights with unjust and unlawful practices, and practically challenging the entire Islamic world and the world. The Palestinian people are using their legitimate right to self-defense against Israel’s usurpation, occupation, and genocides to protect their land, the lives of their citizens, and the dignity and honor of the Islamic community. We salute the glorious resistance of the Palestinian people, who, despite losing hundreds of martyrs every day, continue to grow their resistance front by front. We know and believe that resistance is virtue, not oppression. We pray to the Lord of the worlds for their success in the just struggle of the virtuous Palestinian people. May the Almighty God be their helper and grant them victory.”
Velioğlu continued his speech as follows:
“The Palestinian people are not only defending their own land. They are also defending the dignity and honor of Islamic countries. Given this situation, Muslims must stand by their Muslim brothers with economic, military, and spiritual solidarity, including all official and civil elements. Palestinian Muslims should not be left alone in their resistance against the occupation. The applause for the murderer Netanyahu in the U.S. Congress is the most evident proof that he is not alone in his massacres. The mentality that praises the butcher of Gaza, Netanyahu, who talks about human rights and democracy while being a killer of tens of thousands of women and children, is the biggest partner in the massacre. We also call on our government to invite Hamas spokesman Ismail Haniyeh to speak in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. We demand the immediate revocation of the citizenship of those who are citizens of Turkey and have participated in the massacre in Palestine. The assets of these individuals should be seized, and legal proceedings should be initiated against them for being complicit in genocide as soon as possible. Our request from our people is this: to implement the boycott in every area of life and to refrain from consuming both Israeli goods and the goods of those who support and adore Israel. The Zionist gang must withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories. At this stage, we warn the occupying gang to abandon their massacring and usurping practices and policies, lift the brutal embargo on Gaza, and refrain from committing a new massacre.
