The Kayseri Science Center, affiliated with the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, increased interest in science by organizing educational and entertaining workshop activities for students during the school midterm break.
As one of Turkey’s six science centers supported by TÜBİTAK, the Kayseri Science Center offers various activities to help children get acquainted with science and develop skills in this field. The program meticulously prepared by the Science Center instructors during the midterm break provided children with both an entertaining and educational experience.
On November 13, various workshops based on scientific discoveries were organized for students aged 7-9. These workshops included interactive activities such as “Micro World,” “Electronic Puzzle,” “Play Dough Electric Circuit,” “Origami,” “Solar Observation,” and “Space Capsule.” With these workshops, children had the opportunity to learn scientific principles in a fun and practical way.
On November 14, different and more advanced activities were planned for children aged 10-13. Various scientific studies such as “DNA Model,” “Electroscope,” “Lego Wedo,” “Wood Design,” “Solar Observation,” and “Orienteering” helped children develop different thinking skills.
Kayseri Science Center instructor Emre Karakebap explained that they conducted a camp program at the science academy.
Little ones thank Mayor Büyükkılıç
Fifth-grade student Zeynep Nazlı, who participated in the Metropolitan’s midterm camp, stated that they had a lot of fun in the workshop and enjoyed pleasant moments with their friends, expressing gratitude to Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç for providing these opportunities.
Fourth-grade student Hatice Esma İmce expressed that it was her first time at the Science Center, that she had a great time, and that she loved the Science Center. Mehmet Erdem also mentioned that he recommends these courses to every child, noting that he had previously attended a robotic coding course and participated in informative activities.
With such events, the Kayseri Science Center helps students develop their scientific thinking skills, increase their curiosity, and gain a positive attitude towards learning. These types of programs not only provide educational experiences but also offer opportunities for children to express themselves in technology and science.
