AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala: “We have achieved incredible successes”

The Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Efkan Ala, stated that the AK Party government has achieved countless successes in 22 years, saying, “The guarantee of the distance we will cover is what we have done. That’s why we say there is no stopping, we continue on our path.”

Efkan Ala participated in the 8th Ordinary Congress of the AK Party District in Gemlik, Bursa. In his speech, summarizing the 22-year period of the AK Party, which came to power on November 3, 2002, Ala said, “We are in the 22nd year of the AK Party’s rise to power. With the AK Party coming to power, the will of the people became dominant. As our President said that day, nothing is the same as before. Politics has shifted gears, and a paradigm shift has occurred. Politics has now freed itself from tutelage, and the will of the people has established its dominance in governance. Since then, we have achieved incredible successes. Every institution has strengthened and started to perform its duties in its field. Politics has strengthened and set goals for Turkey. Incredible successes have been achieved in investments. Investments that are spoken of globally have been realized. In the political arena, the accumulated obstacles before Turkey have been removed. Barriers to rights and freedoms have been lifted. Politics has strengthened and institutionalized. The AK Party’s rise to power has enabled the emergence of experiences that are envied not only by Turkey but also by all countries in its sphere of responsibility. Today, Turkey is a respected country among developing countries, both in terms of its politics, economy, and the distances it has covered in terms of democracy. It has turned into a movement that continues on its path by winning more than 19 elections by our citizens. It is followed with interest and support. We also fulfill our responsibilities within this framework,” he stated.

“Political institutions have come to be managed by the will of the people”

Ala mentioned that with the AK Party government, the will of the people manages the institutions, and thus countless projects have been realized. He said, “In Turkey, the weight of the state and the direction of the institutions were at stake. With the AK Party, politics has come to direct state institutions. Politics is the representative of the will of the people. The administration of the state has started to work to carry Turkey to the goals set by the political will. In this regard, we have had the opportunity to implement world-class projects, from the defense industry to high-speed trains, from highways to universities in every province, from airports to nuclear power plants. The AK Party came to power after a significant economic collapse. By paying the last installment in 2013, it ended the IMF’s tutelage over Turkey. The distances covered in economic, political, and democratic fields will be written in gold letters in Turkish political history. The guarantee of the distances we will cover is what we have done. That’s why we say there is no stopping, we continue on our path.”
