The Tunceli Healthy Life Center continues to provide services to citizens without interruption.
The Healthy Life Center, affiliated with the Tunceli Provincial Health Directorate, offers services and training on healthy eating, combating obesity, and psychosocial support to citizens. Evaluating the purpose of the center, the Deputy Director of Health Services at the Provincial Health Directorate, Specialist Dr. Gamze Can Kaya, stated, “Healthy life centers are established to protect individuals and communities against health-related risks, promote a healthy lifestyle, and encourage primary health care services. They are centers based on the understanding of maintaining a healthy state.”
Providing information about the services offered, Dr. Gamze Can Kaya said, “In our center, nutrition consultancy services are provided by our dietitians within the scope of healthy eating and combating obesity. Initially, body analysis is performed by our dietitians, followed by controls and follow-ups for diet practices suitable for healthy living. Psychosocial consultancy in our center is provided by our psychologists and social workers, offering mental health counselling and independent living consultancy for substance and behavioral addictions. Again, in the Cancer Early Diagnosis Screening and Training Center (KETEM) located in our center, screening and training for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer are provided for individuals within the appropriate age range. The screenings conducted in the KETEM unit are completely free. Let us remember that early diagnosis saves lives,” she said.
Emphasizing that citizens can apply to the center through referrals from family physicians or by direct appointment, Dr. Kaya noted that they welcome all citizens to healthy life centers to invest in health rather than illness.
