Enes Doğan, the head wrestler of Antalya Muratpaşa Belediyespor, who won the golden belt at the 64th Traditional Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan Oil Wrestling in Balıkesir, was welcomed with carnations and confetti at Muratpaşa Municipality.
The 24-year-old head wrestler Enes Doğan made a magnificent entry into the wrestling arenas this year after rising to the head wrestling title at the Kırkpınar Wrestling last year. After the Gökbel wrestling in Alanya and the Feslikan wrestling in Konyaaltı, the young head wrestler completed the CW Enerji Turkey Oil Wrestling League 5th stage, the 64th Traditional Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan Oil Wrestling, as the champion. Following his success in Balıkesir, Doğan visited Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal and received an enthusiastic welcome in the municipality’s foyer. The first champion of the CW Enerji Turkey Oil Wrestling League last year, Muratpaşa Belediyespor Head Wrestler Orhan Okulu, his coach Kemal Yılmaz, and the club president Özcan Yılmaz were also present during the visit.
Congratulations from the Mayor
Mayor Uysal congratulated the head wrestlers, stating, “Our Muratpaşa Municipality is a municipality with high conditioning. Not only its conditioning but also its technique is high.” He noted that the character of the beautiful works produced by Muratpaşa, which serves as an example to Turkey, is reflected in its athletes. He said of Doğan, “He made Turkey proud” and added, “Just like his coaches, like his masters, like the municipality he represents, he has made a great breakthrough in wrestling, shining like our Antalya, the capital of tourism, and our bright Muratpaşa, which represents Turkey’s honor. He represents us in the best way possible. I have no doubt that they will maintain this discipline and show it. Now, our eyes and ears will be on the Elmalı sun. Now, our eyes and ears will be on next year’s Kırkpınar sun.”
