The ‘Upside-Down House’ in Trabzon, with ceiling-mounted armchairs, coffee tables, sinks, and other furniture, is attracting the attention of especially Arab tourists, leaving their visitors dizzy. Located in the Yomra district of Trabzon, the 3-story ‘Upside-Down House’ that opened in recent years is drawing the interest of both local and foreign tourists. Due to the sloping angle at its base, the Upside-Down House creates a sensation of dizziness as soon as one enters, surprising guests with its upside-down car, kitchen, bedroom, and furniture inside. Tourists who come to see this extraordinary 210-square-meter house cannot hide their surprise when they see items that should be on the floor hanging from the ceiling, leading them to take plenty of photographs.
Providing information about the largest upside-down house in Turkey, Meval Atakol, the official of the Upside-Down House, mentioned that nearly 500 Arab tourists visit the house daily, showing great interest in it. Atakol stated, ‘This place was under construction during the pandemic period. We opened it for visitors after the pandemic. With 210 square meters, it is the largest upside-down house in Turkey, designed as a 5+1 with a garage. Not all the house’s items are real, some are detailed models. It is a popular spot for tourists. Arab tourists are particularly interested in the upside-down concept. Visitors from out of town are also intrigued. The car attracts the most attention. There is a large vehicle hanging above. Besides that, the sink also gets attention. The dining table amazes them, wondering how such a large dining table is up there. Our entrance fees are 100 TL for adults, 50 TL for children. Our staff assist guests who want to pose for photos. They lie on the floor and help them. Guests from out of town or from Trabzon also show interest. They say they have seen the upside-down house in Ordu, but they mention that this place is different and more realistic. Some guests even visit here twice. We have around 500 Arab tourists visiting daily.’
Dawi Alfalaahi Oman, who visited the Upside-Down House in Trabzon with his family from Oman, expressed, ‘It was a different experience for us. We found this place through a travel agency. I really liked it. We had never experienced anything like this before. I came with my family. We really liked the upside-down house. We took many photos.’
