The name of Kayseri’s first terrorism martyr Necmettin Keleş was given to the middle school opened in Kayseri. The event held at the school located in Bahçelievler Neighborhood was attended by Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Garrison Commander Air Brigadier General Haldun Taşan, Melikgazi District Governor Bülent Karacan, Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu, public institution directors, chamber presidents, teachers, students, and parents. He was born in 1964 in Pınarbaşı district of Kayseri. A high school graduate and single, Keleş was martyred on August 12, 1986, when he was ambushed by terrorists at the entrance of Ballı village in Gülyazı, Uludere district of Şırnak, and shot. Martyr Necmettin Keleş was buried in Gülabi village of Pınarbaşı district.
