Intense Interest in İZDENİZ’s Lesbos Voyages

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s Izmir-Mitilini voyages, which are carried out with the comfort of IZDENIZ to revive sea tourism, reached last year’s sales numbers in almost a month with the start of visa application at the port. While 4,262 Mitilini tickets were purchased in 2023, 2,976 tickets were bought in just one month this year. The voyages will continue with two ships until September 27th.

The new season of the ‘Our Route is Mitilini’ voyages, carried out by IZDENIZ (Izmir Sea Transportation Inc.) affiliated to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, has started. IZDENIZ, which made the first tour of the year special for the last Ramadan Feast, started regular voyages as of May 3rd. This year, the Izmir-Mitilini voyages, which have attracted more interest with the visa application at the port, are organized twice a week, departing on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Already surpassed last year’s sales
This year, the demand for voyages increased with the visa application at the port. While 4,262 Mitilini tickets were sold in 2023, this year, tickets received great interest from the moment they went on sale. 2,976 tickets were sold in the voyages starting on May 3rd. If the interest of the citizens continues, it is expected that the number of trips will double or triple.

Voyages will continue until September 27th
The summer 2024 voyages will end on September 27, 2024. The Ihsan Alyanak Ship, which set sail from Izmir Port for over 20 years and became the first passenger ship to wave the flag in international waters, is accompanied by IZDENIZ’s second high-speed ship, Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, this year. The number of voyages has been increased by 143% this year, and a total of 41 voyages will be made throughout the season. With additional voyages to be arranged due to increased demand, this number may increase. The voyages are carried out departing from Izmir Alsancak Port at 08:30 on every Wednesday and Friday for the outbound trip, and departing from Mitilini Port at 17:00 on every Friday and Sunday for the return trip. The distance from Mitilini Port to Izmir Alsancak Port is 64 nautical miles.

Appointment is required for visa at the port
IZDENIZ Inc., which coordinates efforts to ensure passengers travel safely and comfortably throughout the journey, facilitates passengers’ procedures for visa application at the port as well. Passengers who will travel with visa at the port are required to call IZDENIZ Sales Office at ‘0552 035 88 60’ before the application to make an appointment. Passengers applying for visa at the port are required to submit all the requested documents to IZDENIZ Sales Office in Mitilini Island in full and at least 5 days before the date of passage. Passengers who complete the application documents in full are required to personally deliver the visa fee of 80 Euros per person to IZMIR MARINA-IZDENIZ Sales Office on weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00. The same documents apply for children aged 0-18, and the visa fee is 20 Euros per person. The port visa can be issued for a maximum of 6 nights, 7 days, and for single entry. It is only valid on the purchased island, and cannot be used to travel to another island.

Tickets are now also sold by IZDOGA TOURISM
Voyage tickets are now also sold by IZDOGA TOURISM, online via the website bilet.izdeniz.com.tr, at IZDENIZ ticket sales office located at Izmir Port, and by authorized agents listed on the website. Tickets can be purchased from IZDOGA Tourism sales office or via izdogaturizm.com.

The ticket prices for the year 2024 are determined as follows: For Friday departure voyages (Friday departure – Sunday return), for ages 0-7, one-way 5 Euros, round-trip 8 Euros; for ages 8-18, one-way 22.5 Euros, round-trip 34 Euros; for full fare, one-way 45 Euros, round-trip 68 Euros. For Wednesday departure voyages, ticket prices are as follows: For ages 0-7, one-way 5 Euros, round-trip 8 Euros; for ages 8-18, one-way 20 Euros, round-trip 30 Euros; for full fare, one-way 40 Euros, round-trip 60 Euros.

Bicycle passengers are also accepted
Passengers who wish to bring their bicycles to Izmir-Mitilini voyages can do so by informing during ticket reservation. The Ihsan Alyanak and Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar passenger ships accept up to 10 bicycle passengers each.
