Denizli Metropolitan Municipality hosted Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Adak for a presentation on ‘What is gravity and zero gravity environment?’ as part of the Science Meeting with Youth program. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality brought together young people with Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Adak, a faculty member of the Physics Department at Pamukkale University, within the scope of the Science Meeting with Youth program. The presentation titled ‘What is gravity and zero gravity environment?’ aimed to inform the youth about suborbital flights and experiments to be conducted under suborbital conditions was held at the Metropolitan Municipality Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Culture Center. Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Head of Culture and Social Affairs Department Mehmet Selçuk, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Adak, students, and many young people attended the Science Meeting. In his opening speech, Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed their belief that Turkey can stand with knowledge and wisdom, and announced that many activities will be carried out under the roof of Denizli Science Center in the near future. ‘Those who say we, not me, are the winners.’ Mayor Çavuşoğlu continued his words: ‘You can be sure that we will do whatever it takes to open the horizons of our youth and walk with our youth on the journey we will undertake together. Especially, it saddens us that our young people who can create great added value in our country consider leaving our country due to the conditions in our country. If everyone saves themselves, the ship sinks. We want everyone to save not only their ship but also to save the country together. If we can save the country together, create a Turkey where young people can look hopefully towards the future in the light of science, we will be happy. I want it to be known that we live in a beautiful republic today because they could say we instead of me, because they thought of not themselves but the future generations, especially starting with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Remember this, those who say we, not me, are the winners.’ After the speech, Mayor Çavuşoğlu presented a plaque to Prof. Adak in memory of the day. After the presentation, Mayor Çavuşoğlu visited the science center, where he visited the basic sciences workshop, design and production workshop, aviation and space technologies workshop, robotics and coding workshop, mathematics workshop, and discovery workshop, met with children, and chatted for a while. Mayor Çavuşoğlu encountered a nice surprise at the robotics coding workshop. Here, Robot Cezeri said to Mayor Çavuşoğlu, ‘Welcome to Denizli Science Center. Congratulations on being the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality. We consider it a debt of gratitude for the contributions you have made to the youth, and we wish you continued success.’
