Governor’s Deputy Aydın Börü, Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Murat Kırbaç, Acting Director of National Education Hakan Gölpınar, Head of Lifelong Learning Services Branch Hüseyin Hakan Durum, and protocol members attended the program held within the scope of Lifelong Learning Week activities. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Governor’s Deputy Aydın Börü, protocol members, and participants visited the stands where handicrafts such as painting, ceramics, pottery, marbling, embroidery, amigurumi, needlework, heavily embroidered dresses, recycling, weaving, and other handmade products were exhibited, and received information from master instructors and trainees.
Moreover, within the scope of the activities, Vocational Training Centers from the districts had the opportunity to exhibit the works they carried out throughout the year. Works ranging from handicrafts to music and dance performances received great admiration. Additionally, the Institute of Maturity also participated in this event contributing to the sharing of knowledge and skills.
In his speech during the program, Governor’s Deputy Aydın Börü expressed his joy about the presentation of handmade artworks in a city like Kütahya known for its art, highlighting that Lifelong Learning Week emphasizes the importance of learning without age limits in every moment of life. Such events provide platforms for individuals from all segments of society to improve themselves and acquire new skills. The opening ceremony held in Kütahya contributed to the promotion of this understanding and a better appreciation of the value of learning in society.
Börü mentioned that some of the participants prepared dowries, while others started businesses based on what they learned here, stating that these courses can also serve as a form of psychotherapy for some. These courses enable the preservation of centuries-old handicrafts and their transmission to future generations. He thanked everyone involved for their efforts.
Acting Director of National Education Hakan Gölpınar stated that approximately 55,000 trainees participated in courses in Kütahya this year.
Throughout the week, various events will be organized, and at the opening of the exhibition, sports and folk dance shows as well as music performances were presented.
