In Aydin’s Efeler district, the construction work at the Pınarbaşı Swimming Pools, which had been idle for a long time, continues uninterrupted, while the semi-Olympic swimming pool designed according to FINA standards is steadily rising in the region.

The swimming pool located in the Pınarbaşı area, within the borders of Efeler’s Zafer neighborhood, was built in the 1950s and has been idle for about 15 years after being used for a long time. The work to bring it back into service is ongoing without interruption. The construction works initiated under the Pınarbaşı Open and Closed Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool project, which has been included in the investment program of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, are gaining momentum, and the goal is to complete the pool as soon as possible and put it into service. Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Director Cenap Fillikçioğlu, who inspected the works on site, received information from the authorities regarding the construction process.

The Open and Closed Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool, which has a construction area of 2,902 square meters, will consist of a basement, ground floor, and +1 floor. The facility, designed with two floors, will have a 350-seat grandstand on the upper floor and a 150-seat grandstand on the lower floor. In addition to sports, the facility, which prioritizes social interaction, will include many amenities such as a meeting room, individual training room, cafeteria, referee rooms, and modern changing rooms. Additionally, the pool will also comply with FINA standards.

In a statement made by the Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate regarding the matter, it was stated: “The open and closed semi-Olympic swimming pools, which have started to be built in the Pınarbaşı area by the Aydın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, will strengthen the city’s sports infrastructure and provide significant contributions to the region. It is expected that these modern facilities, which are planned to be completed soon with the rapidly ongoing construction works, will give a significant momentum to sports activities in the region. After the completion of the swimming pools, swimming training will be provided under the projects of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and an important opportunity will be offered for the development of young athletes. Furthermore, these facilities will become an important center hosting swimming events at both local and national levels.”
