Atatürk-Unterschrift von 1938 Personen im Herzen von Manisa

In Manisa, an event was held to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, organized by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality and the Şehzadeler Municipality. In Cumhuriyet Square, the city center, a giant signature of Atatürk was formed by 1938 citizens. The giant signature was captured by drones.

In a first in the history of Manisa, a giant signature of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was created in Cumhuriyet Square, the heart of the city, by 1938 citizens on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of his death. In the center of the signature, a portrait of Atatürk was held by Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, Şehzadeler Municipality Mayor Gülşah Durbay, Yunusemre Deputy Mayor Özge Arslan, and CHP Youth Branch Provincial Chairman Onur Çabuk.

After the creation of the giant Atatürk signature, accompanied by marches and applause, citizens participating in the event competed with each other to take photos with the mayors.

“I remember him with great longing”

In a statement about the event, Gülşah Durbay said, “As our great leader said, ‘Great deaths do not require mourning, loyalty to their ideas is necessary.’ We once again promise to walk continuously on the path he opened and the goals he showed us. I remember our great leader, our commander-in-chief Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with mercy, respect, love, and great longing.”

“Even if he is physically separated from us, he is with us in spirit”

Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who encountered intense interest from citizens, stated: “Today marks the 86th anniversary of the passing of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Even if he is physically separated from us, he is always with us in spirit and ideas. A change in Manisa occurred on March 31. We see every step of that change everywhere. Today, after the commemoration program on November 10, being part of this event we held with Şehzadeler Municipality makes me truly happy, both as it being a first for Manisa and as we remember our leader together with our citizens. The Republic is Atatürk’s greatest gift to us. It is our foremost duty to uphold his principles, revolutions, and the republic. I find it very meaningful that Manisa is a leading province in this matter and that we, as mayors, are here to facilitate this. Long live the Republic!
