In Istanbul Fatih, the Büyük Aile Platformu organized the “Büyük Aile Buluşması ve Sessiz Yürüyüş” (Big Family Meeting and Silent Walk) with the slogan “Dursun Bu Hayasızca Akın” (Stop This Shameless Invasion) to raise awareness about LGBT issues. Hundreds of citizens gathered to call for the banning of LGBT propaganda and organization.

The Büyük Aile Platformu held the “Büyük Aile Buluşması ve Sessiz Yürüyüş” in Fatih Saraçhane Monument Park with the slogan “Dursun Bu Hayasızca Akın”. The General Secretary of the Büyük Aile Platformu, Serdar Eryılmaz, had invited all families to the march against the LGBT propaganda and imposition that threatens society during a press conference at a hotel in Şişli a few days ago. Following this, hundreds of citizens participated in the event with their children. Families joined the third gathering this year holding Turkish flags and banners. The banners read “We want legal regulation”, “We want constitutional protection for our family”, and “Do not give passage to those who declare war on the family”. After the protocol speeches made during the program, the crowd carrying banners and Turkish flags walked silently to Beyazıt Square. In the square, young representatives of NGOs affiliated with the Büyük Aile Platformu made speeches.

In a press statement, Elif Nur Güvençer said, “Firstly, it must be well understood that the LGBT propaganda and imposition knocking at our door is a direct threat to the existence of humanity. The very low birth rates of the first 50 countries included in the United Nations Human Development Index, including our country, show the severity of this threat. This picture indicates a humanity that is becoming extinct as it develops according to the current development paradigm. The programs implemented to raise birth rates and the hundreds of billions of dollars spent cannot provide a solution to improve this painful picture. At this point, the birth rate per woman in our country is 1.51, which is well below the population renewal threshold and is rapidly declining. The current picture shows us the painful reality that our country no longer has a young population that we can proudly mention. The decline of the birth rate below two children indicates not only the loss of demographic power but also points to another loss. Now, having a single child in large cities means that in one generation, we will lose the concepts of uncle, aunt, brother, and sister. Today, I speak here as an aunt whose lineage will become extinct in one generation. With the current demographic trend, we will lose many roles and connections within our family in one generation.”
