In a statement from the Muğla Police Department, it was emphasized that accidents involving agricultural vehicles occur due to deficiencies in the physical equipment of the vehicles; for example, accidents happen because tractors do not have a suspension system and tend to skid off the road, it was stated that in our country, tractors over 25 years old are equipped with a rear axle brake system, while older tractors do not have a front axle brake system, so extra caution is required. It was also mentioned that tractors are designed according to the ground they operate on, and if used on asphalt surfaces, tire air pressure should be increased because the adhesion rate is low when braking on asphalt surfaces. It is necessary for the gear selected for ascending and descending with a tractor to be the same, and for the tires not to skid during sudden turns. It was also recommended to allow 20% slippage in mud crossings, and to not exceed a maximum speed of 5-10 km/h in the field. Warning lights and ROPS bars are of vital importance and must be used when necessary. All trailer users are required to comply with these recommendations.
