Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon 2nd Term Protocol Signed.Central Anatolia Development Agency, Republic Technopark, Sivas Science and Technology University Technology Transfer Office, and Sivas Business Development Center (İŞGEM) signed the ‘Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon’ 2nd Term Collaboration Protocol in cooperation. The protocol was signed by Sivas Governor Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek, Sivas Cumhuriyet University Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Yıldız, Sivas Science and Technology University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kul, and ORAN Development Agency Secretary General İbrahim Ethem Şahin. The signing ceremony, attended by Sivas Mayor Dr. Adem Uzun, Sivas Provincial Council President Mehmet Şarkışla, Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Mutlu Türkoğlu, and relevant institution managers, ended after presenting opinions about the marathon.The activities of the Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon 1st Term, organized in cooperation with the Central Anatolia Development Agency, Republic Technopark, and Sivas İŞGEM, continued throughout 2022-2023. Within the scope of the 1st Term activities, events bringing together young entrepreneurs were held, with a total of 78 hours of entrepreneurship and investment training provided by 13 different trainers on 15 separate days. Mini competitions were organized in 4 different categories with the participation of empowered young entrepreneurs, and prizes were awarded. Following the evaluation by the First Evaluation Committee, 7 entrepreneurial teams were selected to receive a prototype production support of 15,000 TL each, and 2 mentors were assigned to each team. The entrepreneurs carried out a 4-month prototype preparation process. At the Start in Sivas Entrepreneurship Summit Final Program, the entrepreneurs who produced prototypes competed through a demo day event, and an event showcasing the products developed by the entrepreneurs and a panel on the importance of entrepreneurship in regional development were organized. Following the panel, the best 3 entrepreneurs were determined at the demo day event and were awarded prizes of 25,000, 20,000, and 15,000 TL, respectively.The 2nd Term of the Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon officially began with the signed protocol. The total support amount to be provided by the Central Anatolia Development Agency was increased to 500,000 TL. The deadline for the marathon’s applications is October 30, 2024, and the events and award stages within the marathon will continue throughout the second half of the year. The race is starting to enhance Sivas’ entrepreneurship ecosystem, increase the number of high-tech entrepreneurs, and introduce entrepreneurs to national-international incubation programs.
