In Meydan Mahallesi, a district of Birecik in Şanlıurfa, the bad smells coming from the house of an elderly woman living alone raised concerns among the neighborhood residents. The residents who reported the situation to the Birecik Municipality drew attention to the urgency of the situation.

Following the decision of the prosecutor’s office, municipal teams who entered the house found tons of paper and plastic materials piled up inside and in the courtyard of the single-storey house. Zubeyde B., a foreign national living in the house, resisted the disposal of the garbage and tried to prevent the teams from entering.

Zubeyde B. tried to obstruct the work of the teams by climbing onto the roof of the house. However, after the teams’ long efforts, Zubeyde B. was convinced to allow the cleaning of the garbage in the house.

3 trucks of garbage removed from the house were taken to a suitable area for disposal. In addition, pest control activities were also initiated in the house.
