Top scorer in the verbal section, Fatih: ‘I solved questions and read books.’

The results of YKS, eagerly awaited by millions of students, have been announced. Fatih Emre Düzcan from Bahçeşehir College Rize Campus became the first in Turkey in AYT verbal. Düzcan, who stated that he completed the preparation process with the great contribution of his school and teachers without attending cram schools or private lessons, said, ‘Some days I didn’t solve any questions, I just read books; some days, I solved more than a thousand questions.’ YKS, in the verbal field of the Field Competence Test (AYT), Turkey’s 1st place was achieved by Fatih Emre Düzcan, a student at Bahçeşehir College Rize Campus. Düzcan, who said he prepared for the exam only with the education he received at school, described his success that led him to the first place with these words: ‘The exam process was challenging. However, with the support of my family and school, I successfully completed this tough process. I achieved success with only the education I received at school, the support of my teachers and family, without attending cram schools or private lessons. My advice to my friends who will take the exam next year is to never lose their motivation. There were moments when my motivation dropped from time to time. However, I never stopped working because I always believed that the day I would reach my dreams would come true. I never gave up. In the end, I succeeded.’ Düzcan, who stated that he studied regularly throughout his educational life, said that in addition to solving questions, reading plenty of books contributed to his achievement in becoming the first in Turkey in verbal. Fatih Emre Düzcan said, ‘Some days I just read books without solving any questions. Some days, I solved more than a thousand questions. Reading books always motivated me and made the moments when I did not study valuable.’ The successful student, who learned about the university exam results in the morning from his aunt’s phone call, said that he was very happy as soon as he heard the news that his family was the first in Turkey. Although it was a result he expected, he said that he was excited and could not believe it at first when he saw the results, and expressed the pride of realizing his childhood dream of Law Faculty with such success. Father Yüksel Düzcan, who is a Probation Officer, said that seeing his child rewarded for his efforts was an indescribable happiness. The proud father said, ‘My wife and I congratulated our son with tears in our eyes. Although it was not a surprise success, it gave us indescribable emotions. He always wanted to go to the Law Faculty since childhood, and we are very happy that he has achieved his dreams.’
