After visiting the Garrison Martyrdom, the Holy Birth (Mevlid-i Serif) was recited at the July 15 Martyrs Mosque. Following the recitation, the ‘Democracy and National Unity Day March,’ which started in front of the Government Mansion and ended at the July 15 Democracy Square, took place accompanied by a Janissary band. Both officials and citizens visited the July 15 photo exhibition organized by the Bafra Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Directorate. In the program that started at the July 15 Democracy Square, the Qur’an was recited for the martyrs, and visual shows were presented. Speaking at the program, Mayor Hamit Kılıç said, ‘July 15 is a glorious democracy victory won by the unshakable determination, high will, patriotism, and heroism of our noble nation against the traitors who infiltrated the state to divide our country and eliminate national will.’ District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen stated, ‘On July 15, everyone saw that the Turkish nation, which did not surrender even a handspan of this homeland soil watered with their noble blood to traitors and did not fall under the domination of bloody hands aiming at democracy, is a great and noble nation. Turkish history is a history of victories. The struggle and resolute stance displayed on July 15, 2016, have rightfully earned their place in history.’ In the scope of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events organized by the Bafra District National Education Directorate, the students who ranked in the painting competition themed ‘The Victory of the Nation’ were awarded by Governor Ertürkmen.
