After the heavy rain in Ekili Mahallesi Pınarbaşı Mezrası of Suruç district in Şanlıurfa, a devastating flood caused great fear and concern among the residents. The sudden floodwaters panicked the residents who were caught off guard in their homes at night.
It was reported that no casualties have occurred so far in the disaster where a car was dragged by the floodwaters. The accumulation of bushes and tree branches at the bridge entrance posed a risk of collapsing the bridge. The bushes and branches, cleared with the help of an excavator, prevented further damage by the water.
Meteorological authorities issued warnings of heavy rainfall, floods, and water inundation for the region, while Şanlıurfa Governorship and municipalities increased their measures against floods and water inundation. Aziz Birden, a resident of the neighborhood, expressed that despite the flood risk caused by the rainfall, they have not encountered any negative situations so far.
