MAST İzmir Boat Show Meets Sea Enthusiasts for the Second Time

The ‘MAST Izmir Boat Show – Boat, Boat Equipment and Marine Accessories Fair’, which brings together manufacturers and brands of the maritime sector with sea enthusiasts, opened its doors for the second time at the Izmir Fair on May 5, 2024. Hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, organized by IZFAS and ED Fair Organization, the fair will welcome visitors until May 5, 2024.

High Attendance at the Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of MAST Izmir Boat Show was attended by Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay, Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry Chairman of the Board Ender Yorgancılar, Izmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly President Selami Özpoyraz, Chairman of IMEAK Chamber of Shipping Izmir Branch Yusuf Öztürk, Vice President of the Yacht and Boat Industry Association Cem Hüroğlu, and many sector representatives.

‘This fair has shown that it deserves much more attention’

In his opening speech, Mayor Tugay emphasized the potential of MAST Izmir Boat Show, expressing his belief that the fair could achieve even greater success in the future.

The Importance of Izmir’s Marine Tourism

Yusuf Öztürk, Chairman of the Chamber of Shipping Izmir Branch, highlighted the potential of Izmir in marine trade, stating that a significant portion of Turkey’s tourism revenue is generated from marine tourism. Öztürk emphasized the need to develop Izmir’s marine tourism and protect its coves.

Other speakers also emphasized the development of the sector and the importance of the fair, drawing attention to Turkey’s potential in the maritime sector.
