In Manisa, Spain became the champion in the U16 Women’s World Water Polo Championship organized by the Turkish Water Polo Federation and Manisa Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate. The championship took place at Ataturk Olympic Sports Complex Swimming Pool from June 28 to July 4.

The championship took place at the Ataturk Olympic Swimming Pool Complex between June 28 and July 4, with the participation of countries including Germany, Thailand, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Greece, Canada, France, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, South Africa, the United States, Serbia, New Zealand, Australia, Ukraine, Malta, Spain, China, Italy, and the Czech Republic. On the final day of the championship, excitement peaked. The third-place match between Croatia and Australia was fiercely contested, with Australia defeating Croatia 13-10 to secure third place in the championship. In the final match, Spain faced Hungary. The intense match, which started at 20:30, ended with Spain winning 10-7, thus becoming the U16 Women’s World Water Polo Champion. Following the match, the Spanish players and technical staff joyfully jumped into the pool together to celebrate. They unfurled the Spanish flag in the pool, celebrating their championship victory with enthusiasm. The championship concluded with an award ceremony where the best coach, best player, top scorer, and best goalkeeper of the championship received awards. The championship cup was handed over to Spain. The award ceremony was attended by Manisa Deputy Governor Mevlüt Özmen, Deputy Chairman of the World Water Polo Technical Committee Ken Kuroda, Member of the World Water Polo Committee Dan Cameron, Bureau Member of the World Water Polo Federation Kyriakos Giannopoulos, President of the Turkish Water Polo Federation Mete Erol, Director of Youth and Sports of Izmir Murat Eskici, Acting Director of Youth and Sports of Manisa Seyhan Terzi, and General Secretary of the Turkish Water Polo Federation Hüseyin Aşçı.
