The fourth day of the graduation ceremonies of the Faculty of Agriculture, Graduate School of Education, Faculty of Theology, and Faculty of Business at Duzce University for the academic year 2023-2024 was held. Duzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nedim Sözbir, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İlhan Genç and Prof. Dr. Ali Öztürk, Duzce Mufti Osman Aydın, academic unit managers, faculty members, students, and their families attended the ceremony at 15 July Democracy Square.

“A day where efforts are celebrated and seeds bloom”
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Aybike Ayfer Karadağ described the graduation day as a day where efforts are celebrated and seeds bloom. Emphasizing that agriculture is one of the most important issues that shape the past and future of humanity, Karadağ stated that they educate students as the architects of the future with this understanding, equipping them with knowledge and experience, and congratulated them with love and pride.

Director of the Graduate School of Education Assoc. Dr. Pınar Gültekin mentioned that the Graduate School of Education was established in 2021 with the merger of the Institutes of Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Fine Arts. Stating that these units, which feed academia, educate experts for the public and private sectors, are the heart and brain of universities, Gültekin said that the success of the graduates will elevate and honor Duzce University.

“No success is a coincidence”
Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. İsmail Karagöz expressed that no success is a coincidence and that the graduation of students is the result of their successful work. Karagöz expressed his belief that the graduates will be productive individuals, setting an example in public and human rights, and conveyed his congratulations by saying, “We hope that you will be on the right path with your mind and will, and act with common sense. Let honesty be your motto.”

Dean of the Faculty of Business Prof. Dr. Enver Bozdemir congratulated the students who graduated by overcoming challenges, stating that they are gathered to share this special moment of university life and look optimistically towards the future. Saying that they see the graduates as the future business people, managers, and leaders, Bozdemir said, “Just hold on to this belief, do not look at the future with concern, be visionary, and never give up on your ideals.”

Speaking at the Faculty of Theology Graduation Ceremony, Duzce Provincial Mufti Osman Aydın stated that they witnessed the happiness of the students graduating from the value-generating Duzce University and emphasized that they will be successful in the institutions where they will serve with the qualified education they have received. Thanking for being invited to this meaningful program, Osman Aydın also expressed his gratitude to the academicians of Duzce University for their support in the students’ development.

“It is the era of lifelong learning and continuing education”
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Öztürk stated that they are gathered to share the joy of graduation of the students, indicating that universities play an important role in achieving Turkey’s Century goals. Emphasizing that universities have important tasks such as offering scientific research for the development of our country and training qualified human resources, Öztürk concluded his speech with the words, “It is the era of lifelong learning and continuing education. Besides being success and result-oriented, be human-oriented. We are proud of you.”

In his speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlhan Genç mentioned that parents embarked on a journey with their children 15 years ago, stating, “As parents, you are at the core of this success. You started this journey. They succeeded. I congratulate all of you.” Advising students to follow innovations along with the scientific knowledge they have acquired, Genç expressed his hope that parents will support the graduates in their professional lives after university education and concluded his speech.

“Our graduates will continue to be members of Duzce University”
Duzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nedim Sözbir began his words by stating that the students who have gone through a challenging period deserve this success today as they graduate. Saying that the graduates will repay their families and the nation with the knowledge they have learned and the skills they have gained, Rector Sözbir thanked the families for their sacrifices, patience, and support. Emphasizing that even though the students graduate, they will continue to be members of Duzce University, Sözbir underlined that they will always support them loudly.

“The values and knowledge we have gained will continue to illuminate our path”
Faculty valedictorian Erhan İnce said, “Today, as we all celebrate the end of the term, we eagerly await the new beginning and what the future will bring us. Each of us will walk different paths, write our own stories. But I know that the values and knowledge we have gained at Duzce University will continue to illuminate our path.”

After the opening speeches, success certificates were presented to students who excelled in their faculties and departments, graduation certificates were presented to graduating students by the Duzce University Administration, academic unit managers, and academicians. At the Faculty of Agriculture Graduation Ceremony, students enthusiastically recited the Oath of Agricultural Engineering with the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Aybike Ayfer Karadağ, experiencing the excitement of stepping into their professional lives.

After the presentation of the graduation certificates, the throwing of caps ceremony took place. The graduates, who successfully completed their educational lives, threw their caps, and the families of the students experienced great pride and happiness.
