A family whose house was destroyed in the earthquake was defrauded of 400,000 TL while dreaming of a warm home

HATAY (İHA) – The Çetiner family, whose houses were destroyed in the earthquake in Hatay, stated that they were defrauded of 400,000 TL while dreaming of a prefabricated house. Earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş caused great destruction in Hatay and nearly 25,000 people died. The house of the Çetiner family, caught in the earthquake in the Öz Kurtuluş neighborhood of Reyhanlı district, was also severely damaged. According to allegations, the family whose houses were destroyed in the disaster of the century agreed with a master craftsman to build a prefabricated house by paying a down payment of 100,000 TL. Allegedly, the craftsman who received a total of 400,000 TL from the family in installments disappeared. Abdullah Çetiner, an earthquake victim, stated that he learned that the person was a swindler through social media posts, saying, ‘I was desperate, I gave them everything I had.’
“We cannot reach this man in any way” Abdurrahman Çetiner, who said that the craftsman they agreed with to build a prefabricated house after the earthquake took the money and disappeared, said, ‘Our house was severely damaged in the earthquakes on February 6, so it collapsed. After it collapsed, we started living in a container and then we wanted to build a prefabricated house with the means we had. They started working on the prefabricated house here with a master craftsman my father found. When they came here, they started drawing the project. They took a down payment of over 100,000 TL. Then they started coming constantly and asking for money. Every time they brought materials, they asked for money. They took more than 400,000 TL from me. I was desperate, I gave everything I had to this man. This man has now blocked us from everywhere, we cannot reach this man in any way. They disappeared and we can’t find them. We want this person to be found. We learned that he is a swindler through a social media account.
