Preparations have been completed for meeting the growing agricultural production volume of Mustafakemalpaşa with the Grain Board of Turkey (TMO) Purchase Center project. For the first time this year, cereals will be purchased by TMO at the Mustafakemalpaşa Commodity Exchange campus.

Preparations have been completed for meeting the growing agricultural production volume of Mustafakemalpaşa with the Grain Board of Turkey (TMO) Purchase Center project. At the Mustafakemalpaşa Commodity Exchange campus, final checks were carried out before the grain purchase, which will be done for the first time this year by TMO. TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal, Balıkesir TMO Regional Director Salih Aksu, Deputy Regional Directors Muharrem Şevki Aygün, Hakan Solak, and Procurement Preservation Chief Ayşe Aysel Güç visited the Commodity Exchange for inspections. Accompanying the TMO delegation were the Commodity Exchange Board Chairman Sadettin Akkoyunlu, AK Party Chairman Mutlu Turgut, and Agriculture Director Kamil Uslu. The delegation inspected the Exchange’s laboratory, scales, and product procurement area, and were briefed on barley, wheat fields, and harvesting. Commodity Exchange Chairman Sadettin Akkoyunlu stated that out of the total 162,000 hectares of land in Mustafakemalpaşa, 36% is cultivable agricultural land, with 36,430 hectares (62%) being rainfed and 22,000 hectares (38%) being irrigable agricultural land. Akkoyunlu announced enthusiastically to the producers that this year TMO will start accepting products at the Mustafakemalpaşa Commodity Exchange campus. AK Party Chairman Mutlu Turgut, in his speech, emphasized the significance of the ongoing efforts and the completion of site selection for TMO, which is considered a crucial step for our district, the heart of agriculture. He mentioned that through this support and collaboration, they will be able to provide better conditions for farmers, crown their support and efforts with joint work, and enhance the agriculture sector in the region.
