Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Touristic Tatvan Train, operating between Ankara and Tatvan, will start its journey after the Eid al-Adha, with 140 passengers departing from Ankara on June 24th. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the Touristic Tatvan Train, which will be put into service after the Eid al-Adha, will depart from Ankara with 140 passengers on June 24th at 14:30, and from Tatvan on June 26th at 19:00.
Uraloğlu mentioned that the Touristic Tatvan Train will complete its route in 28 hours, emphasizing that conventional trains, which have been meeting travel needs for a long time, are now also serving the country’s tourism. He stated, ‘After the Touristic Eastern Express and the Touristic Diyarbakır Express, we will bid farewell to the Touristic Tatvan Train on June 24th.’
The Touristic Tatvan Train combines unique scenery and nostalgia. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the train combines nostalgia and comfort with a unique view, saying, ‘Our train consists of sleeping wagons with home comfort. Two people can travel in one room of our sleeping wagons, each room equipped with a refrigerator and a sink. In addition, our passengers can enjoy the tastes offered in dining wagons accompanied by Anatolian scenery.’
Tourism break in Elazığ and Sivas. Minister Uraloğlu mentioned that the Touristic Tatvan Train will make a 3-hour tourism stop in Elazığ on the Ankara-Tatvan route, allowing passengers to explore the cultural and historical texture of Elazığ. On the return journey, the train departing from Tatvan will make a 3-hour stop in Sivas, giving passengers the opportunity to spend time in Sivas.
The train contributes to the economy of the cities it passes through. Uraloğlu highlighted that thousands of passengers traveling with trains operated by TCDD Transportation Inc., primarily the Touristic Eastern Express, Touristic Erzurum Kars Regional Train, and Touristic Diyarbakır Train, accumulate beautiful memories. He stated, ‘Our tourism ambassador trains gliding through unique geographies offer an alternative to tourism and also contribute to the economy of the cities they pass through. The Touristic Eastern Express, which is renowned beyond the country’s borders and operates on one of the world’s most beautiful routes, is a prime example of this. Like the Touristic Diyarbakır Express, which completed its trips this season, the Touristic Tatvan Train will touch the economic, social, and cultural life of many cities along its route, offering the opportunity to see historical and cultural values and natural wonders throughout the route.’
