THE Impact Rankings 2024 list announced by London-based Times Higher Education (THE) evaluated around 2000 universities from 125 countries in 17 different categories under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Beykent University achieved significant success in the field of sustainability by being included in all categories. The Impact Rankings 2024 list has been announced. Istanbul Beykent University has achieved remarkable success in the rankings. In the category of ‘Zero Hunger’, Istanbul Beykent University ranked 3rd among foundation universities and placed in the range of 301-400 globally. In the ‘No Poverty’ category, it maintained its position among foundation universities and found its place in the range of 601-800 globally. Among foundation universities, it ranked 2nd. In the ‘Life Below Water’ category, where it appeared for the first time in 2024, Beykent University succeeded in being 2nd among foundation universities and placed between 401-600 universities globally. In the ‘Climate Action’ category, it ranked 4th among foundation universities in Turkey, 5th among foundation universities in ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ and ‘Life on Land’ categories, 6th in ‘Clean Water and Sanitation’, 7th in ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’, and 8th in ‘Partnerships for the Goals’. ‘We will continue to work for a more sustainable, livable world’ Speaking about the success achieved, Rector Prof. Dr. Volkan Öngel stated: ‘The success we achieved in this year’s THE Impact Rankings 2024 list proves the accuracy of our work in the field of sustainability. As Istanbul Beykent University, we conduct our activities in education, research, and social contribution by taking the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a guide to ensure sustainability. The rankings obtained in vital categories such as ‘Zero Hunger’ and ‘No Poverty’ demonstrate our sensitivity to social issues and our determination in finding solutions. Our first-time participation in the ‘Life Below Water’ category and entering such a prestigious ranking is an indication of the recognition of our environmental sustainability efforts.
