The ‘Woman’s Hand in Industry Project’ initiated by ATSO with the aim of increasing female workforce in the industrial sector has achieved great success. ATSO President Ali Bahar stated that 100% success was achieved with high scores in the project where 15 women received training, saying, ‘Our project is an important step towards women taking an active role in the industry. The great success shown by the participants is the best example of what can be achieved when correct education and determination come together.’ Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), within the scope of the ‘Woman’s Hand in Industry’ project carried out in the context of occupational competence and female employment, achieved a first in Turkey with 15 women achieving 100% success in the ‘Steel Welding Vocational Qualification Certification’ program. Women who received training in the ‘Woman’s Hand in Industry’ project, which was realized by Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with TOBB Antalya Women Entrepreneurs Committee and Antalya Organized Industrial Zone Directorate Training Center (OSBEM), with the support of Antalya Provincial Directorate of National Education, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Labor and Employment Agency, successfully completed a two-month training process. Following the ‘International Valid Vocational Qualification Certified and Female Employment Guaranteed Simulation Steel Welding Course,’ which received 98 applications from women and selected 15 through interviews, accredited certification center TOBB MEYBEM conducted the theoretical and practical exams, each stage of which was recorded by camera, and all 15 female trainees received their certificates by scoring high marks. ATSO President Ali Bahar, noting the great success achieved within the scope of the ‘Woman’s Hand in Industry Project,’ thanked the supporting institutions and said, ‘This success is not only a testament to the determination and abilities of our women but also an indication of the quality of education we provide. Our project is an important step towards women taking an active role in the industry. The great success shown by the participants is the best example of what can be achieved when correct education and determination come together.’ ‘Job interviews at companies will start in July’ ATSO President Ali Bahar, stating that they have taken an important step to eliminate the gap in vocational technical education and employment processes, said, ‘Revising our trainings in line with the needs of the sector to ensure the effective use of resources in this field is our most important goal.’ Women who graduate with internationally valid accredited Steel Welding Vocational Qualification Certificates given within the scope of the project will start job interviews in the industry in early July as sought-after certified and qualified workforce. President Bahar said, ‘ATSO members and Antalya OSB companies will start job interview meetings for employment with competent women in July. We will provide a significant solution to the demand for qualified workforce in the sector. We believe that the project will make a significant contribution to regional economy and social development by increasing female employment in the industrial sector.’ ‘A solution to the demand for qualified workforce’ President Bahar, expressing that the success of the trainings organized for the first time in Antalya with the cooperation of multiple institutions will be a good example, continued his words as follows; ‘We took an important step to strengthen the position of our women in the sector. As ATSO, we will continue our efforts to produce solutions to the demand for qualified workforce and to open innovative trainings in many occupational fields. The success of this project demonstrates how important inter-institutional cooperation and coordination are. I congratulate all participants for their achievements and thank our stakeholders for their contributions. The woman’s hand in industry will shine brightly with hope for our women in Antalya’s future.’
