Meteorology General Directorate Weather Forecast Expert Mehmet Özdemirci stated that scattered and thundery showers will be effective throughout Turkey in the coming week. Özdemirci provided the following information in his statement:
General Situation
Tuesday: Scattered and thundery showers are expected in Marmara, Inner Aegean, Inner West Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, Inner Anatolia, Western Black Sea, Middle Black Sea coasts, Eastern Black Sea, and Southeastern Anatolia regions.
Wednesday: Precipitation will continue in the northern, inner, and eastern parts of the country. Particularly, heavy rainfall may occur in Central and Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia Region, and the east of Southeastern Anatolia.
Thursday: Scattered showers will be effective in the northern, inner, and eastern regions.
Istanbul Weather Forecast
Istanbul: Scattered and thundery showers are expected for the next 3 days. The temperature will be 14-18 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Ankara Weather Forecast
Ankara: Showers are forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday. While the temperature is expected to be 13-24 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, it will be 15-24 degrees on Wednesday.
Izmir Weather Forecast
Izmir: Partly cloudy weather is expected with no rainfall. The temperature is predicted to be 15-28 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Earthquake Zones and Warnings
Earthquake Zones: Scattered showers are expected in earthquake-prone provinces in the upcoming days. It is necessary to be cautious against risks such as floods and inundations in areas with heavy rainfall.
Özdemirci mentioned that heavy rainfall is expected on Wednesday especially around Adana, Osmaniye, and Malatya. Additionally, he warned against events like landslides and soil contact in the inner parts of Eastern Black Sea.
