In recent days, as temperatures have been rising, incidents of car fires have also started to increase. It was emphasized that especially in hot summer days where LPG cars are more prone to catch fire, car owners need to pay attention to regular maintenance.

The recent high temperatures have also brought along car fires. The extreme heat waves experienced nationwide have negative effects on life, and the frequent car fires in the summer months pose a danger to users as well. Motor vehicles that we use throughout the day are also affected by the hot weather conditions.

In particular, LPG cars are affected by many different negative situations. Instances like fuel leaks during periods of neglected regular maintenance can lead to car fires. Industrial professionals have warned LPG car drivers not to skip regular maintenance especially during the excessive heat of the summer months.

“We recommend getting LPG checks and maintenance done”

Emphasizing that most car fires occur due to fuel leaks, industrial professional Yavuz Tozan stated, “With the warming of the weather, we can hear about issues like combustion in cars. Fires mostly occur due to fuel leaks. Whether it’s petrol, gas, or diesel in cars, when there is a leak, a fire breaks out. We recommend LPG car users to get their LPG checks and maintenance done annually or every 10,000 kilometers. These should be done by authorized companies, if not done and there is a leak, the cars catching fire is not far-fetched. Also, there is a similar issue regarding LPG tanks. The lifespan of LPG tanks is 10 years, and in tanks older than 10 years, there may be gas leaks due to wear. Explosions, fires can occur, but when the checks of LPG cars are done on time and regularly, they do not pose any danger, and economically, without harming the environment, people can use these cars.”

“Procedures should be carried out by authorized companies”

Tozan, stating that underground repairs harm the car, said, “Our advice to petrol car drivers who will have LPG conversion is that they should have the LPG conversion done in authorized companies, not in underground places. Because in underground places, problems can occur in cars that are sent without any checks. These problems can be gas leakage, loss of vehicle performance, damage to the car’s engine. In order to prevent these, our recommendation is that whatever procedure is performed, it should be done by authorized companies.”
