Balıkesir 5th Aromatherapy Festival will be held on 4-7 July

The 5th Balıkesir Aromatherapy Festival, coordinated by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by the municipalities of Ayvalık, Burhaniye, Edremit, and Gömeç, will take place in Burhaniye between July 4-7 this year. With the theme of ‘History, Healing, Culture’, the only festival of its kind in Turkey, the Balıkesir Aromatherapy Festival will feature expert speakers explaining aromatherapy, workshops, product stands, photo shooting areas, exhibitions, theater, and concerts throughout the four days. Aromatherapy, a holistic therapy form that promotes health and well-being using essential oils extracted from leaves, flowers, barks, roots, seeds, and other parts of plants, is carried out in Burhaniye through Balıkesir Farmer Training Center (BAÇEM), a subsidiary of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality. BAÇEM aims to increase the production and marketing of herbal products by combining the rich plant resources of the region with different aromatherapy practices through the Balıkesir Aromatherapy Festival. BAÇEM, through the Balıkesir Aromatherapy Festival, emphasizes renewing the mind, body, and soul with the healing scents and tastes of nature, staying away from the stress of daily life, and indicating that everyone deserves to be happy by dedicating special time to themselves. The 5th Balıkesir Aromatherapy Festival with the theme ‘History, Healing, Culture’ is open to everyone. Attending the festival to receive training in aromatherapy workshops, participating in discussions by expert speakers to learn how the region’s plants have been historically used, discovering the benefits of essential oils, and purchasing aromatherapy products from the product stands in the field will be possible. In the evenings, attendees will enjoy concerts and events at the Ören Festival Area. Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın, who stated that they will provide all kinds of support for the festival to be more effective and recognized at an international level, invites all nature lovers to ‘meet with the healing scents and tastes of nature’ in Balıkesir, known as an important center for white lilies and cologne. He also mentioned that this year’s Aromatherapy Festival will be organized for the first time in collaboration with the municipalities of Ayvalık, Burhaniye, Edremit, and Gömeç.
