Eray Erdem, the President of Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), stated after a meeting with tourism association executives in Alanya regarding the bankruptcy application of FTI, one of Germany’s largest tour operators, that ‘Currently there is not a clear situation, but flights from Germany to Alanya have been suspended until June 10th. Insurance companies have their responsibilities in place. At least there won’t be any loss for those who are already accommodated.’
FTI, one of Germany’s largest tour operators, had announced its bankruptcy application. Following the announcement of the bankruptcy of FTI, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, Alanya Municipality Advisor and Board Member of ALTAV Abdurrahman Açıkalın, President of Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTİD) Burhan Sili, along with ALTAV and ALTİD executives, held a meeting at ALTSO.
‘There is no issue regarding the guests currently staying’
After the meeting, President of Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTİD) Burhan Sili stated, ‘We had a consultation meeting regarding FTI’s bankruptcy request and the ongoing process. According to the latest information we have, there is no issue regarding the guests currently staying. As always, prioritizing Turkish hospitality, we will send back those who show interest in Alanya without causing any inconvenience. We had the opportunity to discuss what should be done next. Hopefully, we won’t face such a negative situation again.’

ALTSO President Eray Erdem mentioned, ‘Our request from all hoteliers is to accommodate our guests in Alanya without causing any inconvenience. This is what suits us. Discussions with both hoteliers and counterparts on what we can do on our scale regarding the issue FTI is facing in Alanya and Antalya are ongoing. Hopefully, clearer results will be obtained tomorrow. There are also different companies within FTI. Our hoteliers are in contact with those companies. Currently there is not a clear situation, but according to the news received, flights from Germany have been suspended until June 10th. Insurance companies are involved. Even if there is a problem, we are obliged to host and send off our guests in a fitting manner. I believe we will receive news that will ease the sector representatives a bit more in tomorrow’s meeting.’
