A contract was signed between the Mevlana Development Agency (MEVKA) and the Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO) for the preparation of energy audits for businesses in the TR52 region. Within the scope of the contract, energy audits of businesses that will qualify for support under the 2024 Transformation Technical Support Program in Manufacturing Industry, expected to be announced shortly by the Mevlana Development Agency, will be prepared by the Konya Chamber of Industry. Following the signing of the contract, the Secretary General of the Mevlana Development Agency, Ihsan Bostancı, who evaluated the contract, stated that as an institution, they aim to contribute to the preparation of energy audit reports for manufacturing companies and cooperatives in the region that qualify for support under the 2024 Technical Support Program. He also mentioned that previously, 1 million 250 thousand TL was allocated to support 16 projects on energy audits by the Agency. With this contract, the Agency will provide 100 thousand TL support for energy audit reports prepared for each company that will receive support within the technical support program. Emphasizing the importance of efficient use of regional resources, the Agency continues its efforts in this direction. Through the energy audits to be prepared by the Konya Chamber of Industry with the support of the Agency, detailed reports will be prepared on various aspects such as energy management systems, boilers, installations, air conditioning and ventilation systems, compressed air systems, induction furnaces, electrical distribution systems, electric motors, and pump systems, to shed light on how energy used in production can be made more efficient, how much savings can be achieved with new investments, and the payback periods. In a period where the country is striving to reduce its dependency on external energy sources, this work holds great importance. The President of the Konya Chamber of Industry, Mustafa Büyükeğen, expressed his gratitude to the Konya Chamber of Industry for their contribution and wished success for the upcoming work, stating that their efforts to increase energy efficiency in the industry continue and the protocol signed with MEVKA is valuable.
