The students of the Public Relations and Promotion Program of Çanakkale Vocational School of Social Sciences, who are trying to create a nostalgic outdoor cinema atmosphere for children in Behramlı Village, connected to the Eceabat district of Çanakkale, presented a fun day for children with games and dances in the 3rd edition of the First Cinema Social Responsibility Project carried out this year.

The students of the Public Relations and Promotion Program of the Marketing and Advertising Department of Çanakkale Vocational School of Social Sciences at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) organized the 3rd edition of the department’s traditional ‘First Cinema’ Social Responsibility Project in Behramlı Village of Eceabat. As part of the social responsibility course, ÇOMÜ students organized an outdoor cinema event to give the village children their first cinema experience, and distributed cinema tickets as a souvenir of the day.

Setting up a viewing area with chairs in front of the Behramlı Village Museum of Respect for History, the Public Relations and Promotion students created a similar environment to nostalgic outdoor cinemas with a sound system and projection. In the First Cinema Social Responsibility Project, where kindergarten teachers and students as well as all children in the village were invited, fun activities were organized for the children before dark. Singing songs and dancing with the children, the students provided an unforgettable day for the children with face painting, animation shows, musical chairs competition, and traditional games such as ‘I sell oil, I sell honey’.

In the First Cinema Social Responsibility Project, where parents watched their children’s fun moments, an animated stork film was shown to the little ones after dark. While distributing popcorn and fruit juice to the children during the film, the students also distributed cookies and tea for the parents. The final year students and graduation candidates of the Public Relations and Promotion program, Yusuf Uzun and Ulaş Çakar, prepared a social responsibility project as their graduation project, supported by Eceabat Municipality which provided a bus for the event. Tahir Kuşgöz, the headman of Behramlı Village, who said that the event made the children in the village very happy, both supported the project and closely interacted with the ÇOMÜ students throughout the project.
