President Buyukakin to Kagitspor: ‘You have become the pride of Kocaeli’

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın met with the young athletes of Kağıtspor and said, ‘You have made Kocaeli proud. You have successfully represented our city and country in national and international competitions, waving our flag. I kiss you all on your forehead.’ Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın met with the athletes and managers who returned from almost every championship with medals and filled the club’s museum with trophies at Kağıtspor. Meeting with the President of Kağıtspor, Ibrahim Ercin, managers, and athletes at the SEKA Athlete Training Center (SEKASEM) where the club center is located, Mayor Büyükakın said, ‘The valuable athletes who have made a name for themselves in almost every field of sports at Metropolitan Kağıtspor have made Kocaeli proud. You have successfully represented our city and country in national and international competitions, waving our flag. I kiss you all on your forehead.’ Mayor Büyükakın, congratulating the athletes, said, ‘The medals you have won and the trophies you have achieved are the result of sweat, determination, and hard work. I can see the determination to win and the spirit of competition in your eyes. I congratulate you especially for your professional struggle without losing the sportsmanship spirit of amateurism. I wholeheartedly support our national athletes every time they step onto the field with the crescent-star jersey. The hearts and support of everyone living in Kocaeli are with you. I congratulate everyone who contributed to Kağıtspor club, from the president to the management, from branch managers to coaches, and even the equipment staff.’ Mayor Büyükakın emphasized once again that Kağıtspor, which has trained 159 national athletes with the dedication of 120 coaches in 37 branches and the work of 147 training groups in 114 different halls, continues to be a source of pride for Kocaeli and Turkey, saying, ‘With these magnificent achievements, you are providing great support to our vision of ‘Kocaeli, the City of Sports.’ I congratulate everyone involved in this path.
