Boosting morale for students before the university entrance exam in Alanya

A motivation dinner and entertainment event was organized for the students who are receiving support education at the Support Education Course Centers of Alanya Municipality and staying at Oba Girls’ Student Dormitory before the university entrance exam. Alanya Municipality Honorary Gürses Study and Support Education Course Center and Payallar Şehit Aybüke Teacher Support Education Course Center organized a motivation program for the 12th grade and graduate students studying at the centers, as well as the 12th grade students staying at Oba Girls’ Student Dormitory. The event, attended by 650 students, took place at Cikcilli Wedding Hall, with the participation of Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, Municipality Mayor Advisor Faruk Konukçu, Municipality Social Assistance Affairs Director Hüseyin Doğan, and teachers working at the municipality’s educational institutions.
“We will make a difference with the municipality’s opportunities” On the night where students who will take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) on June 8-9 after a year-long intensive program had fun with their friends, Municipality Mayor Advisor Faruk Konukçu wished success to the students. Konukçu stated, “We have been in the municipality administration for 2 months. When preparing for the elections, the first thing I said was that the municipality’s social services, education, and sports-related units should be under general administration. I especially wanted this area. For 11 years, I was the education manager of the Waldorf Life School. Education is one of the areas I love and care about the most. How nice it is that our Dear Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik assigned me a duty related to this field. I thank him from here. I think that one of the areas where I will see the best results of my work is education. Therefore, I am happy to take responsibility in an area where I will support the development of all our children; youth both scientifically, socially, intellectually, and athletically, together with our teachers. I hope that we will contribute to your preparation for the future with our teachers. These last days before your exam, you are entering a period where you will take the exam and chase your dreams. Let me express here that we will work hard for all of Alanya’s children to reach a beautiful future. We came for this. I have no doubt that we will make a difference within the municipality’s capabilities. Perhaps you will witness this from within or from afar. I promise you. We will do even more to ensure that Alanya’s children can have a say in the future of this city and the country.”
“You are the hope of the country” Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik shared his experiences with the students. Mayor Özçelik said, “What I told your friends earlier was this; ‘when I saw you, a light shone inside me.’ Truly, after seeing this beauty, this enthusiasm, at least the way you look at life in this hall, as a 60-year-old, I envied you. You are the future of this country, you are the light. You are the individuals who will manage this country in the future, who will actively participate in the management levels, and never forget that. No matter what anyone says to you, say ‘if nothing else, we are the hope of this country, friends.’ Let this be the most important nourishment in your bag. Do not belittle yourselves. Do not say we cannot. 45 years ago, I was someone sitting at these desks, in these chairs. We worked, including Mr. Faruk Konukçu, who is now in a managerial position. A director, worker, manager, supervisor of the country, a deputy, one of you will be a mayor, and you will manage this country. Do not lose your way, say to your family, to your elders, ‘we are the hope of this country.’ Follow the path drawn by our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, you do not need to do anything else. I am here to be with you, and as much as possible, as the Mayor of Alanya Municipality and together with my team, we will help you in your life ahead. Remember; you are the hope, the future of this country in the path of Atatürk.” Mayor Özçelik, who was applauded by the students, thanked them for the organized event. Mayor Özçelik took photos with the students in memory of the night. The event continued until late hours with folk dances and games.
