‘5 Minutes of Fame’ premiered in Aliağa

The play ‘Famous in 5 Minutes’, written and directed by Demet Bozkurt, the Art Director of Aliağa Municipality Theater (ALBET), had its first screening as part of the end-of-year cultural and art events of Aliağa Municipality Art House (ASEV). The play, prepared by ALBET actors, impressed the theater enthusiasts with its set design, costumes, acting performances, and music.

The play, whose first scene took place at Ulaş Bayam Open Air Theater, was watched by Aliağa District Governor Zekeriya Güney, Aliağa Deputy Mayor Mesut Öztürk, Director of Culture and Social Affairs Serap Cerrahoğlu, and many theater enthusiasts. The highly acclaimed play featured a 40-person ALBET team that delivered a theater recital with their performances. The music group Kness Up added color to the night with their music.

In the play, the concept of becoming famous today, the increasing value of being visible rather than being thoughtful, and in a century where there is a constant search for identity, it was narrated in an absurd language how people are pushed more into a virtual world and become puppets of others. While the play provided a laugh riot, it also made the audience contemplate.

ALBET actors were applauded standing at the end of the night, and Aliağa Deputy Mayor Mesut Öztürk presented flowers to Art Director Demet Bozkurt. Bozkurt, emphasizing that the play was prepared and staged with great effort and patience, thanked the theater enthusiasts who filled the hall, the ASEV family, ALBET actors and technical team, and Aliağa Mayor Serkan Acar, who is always by the side of art and artists.
