The end-of-year exhibition organized by the students of the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hitit University received great acclaim. The exhibition, held in the foyer of the Vocational Schools Campus, featured 45 works prepared by department students. Muteber Burunsuz, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, stated that undergraduate students who successfully completed their education produced works containing artistic perspectives, original styles, different disciplines, and practices after receiving basic art education. She mentioned that our students have started representing our university in the national and international arena by contributing to the contemporary art scene with current and traditional production methods focusing on concepts. Additionally, our faculty participated in numerous exhibitions and events, especially in Palestine, within the scope of social responsibility projects throughout the year. The exhibition includes 45 pieces by 26 students. She added that our students will continue to represent us in the best way possible in the future.
Hitit University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Öztürk also emphasized that the students and instructors of the Painting Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts make a significant contribution to social sensitivity and the cultural structure of the city. He thanked the students who brought attention to the genocide in Palestine, where babies are killed by a group of murderers, by transferring these events onto canvas, touching emotions and hearts. He also expressed his pride in the beauty brought to our campus through colors, integrating these beauties with different emotions, and opening a door to the future with the contributions of our instructors under the name of Hitit University.
“We want to see young people in sports and arts” Mayor Dr. Halil İbrahim Aşgın expressed his desire to see young people in sports, arts, and culture. He stated that they want to share the sparkle in the eyes of the youth when they exhibit the works they produce, as they draw their energy and work enthusiasm mostly from the young generation. Mayor Halil İbrahim Aşgın compared cities to canvases and mentioned that just like creating beautiful paintings on canvases, urban planning is similar. He expressed his happiness to be present and be with the young people.
After the speeches, the guests toured the exhibition. Aşgın and Öztürk examined the works one by one, chatted with the students, and received information about each piece.
