Turkey’s top umbrella press professional organization, the Turkey Journalists Confederation, which has 9 journalists federations and 86 journalists associations as members, has initiated work to solve professional problems with the newly elected board of directors at the 4th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. At the first board meeting where it was decided to update the ‘Press Issues and Solutions’ report, it was decided to distribute the report to all institutions related to the media sector, including political party leaders, and to bring it to the agenda in Turkey. During the meeting where it was decided to start working on solving all the problems in the sector from press freedom to economic issues, from the labor rights of media workers to the lack of press professional law, task distribution was also made. Nuri Kolaylı, who was unanimously elected as the President at the General Assembly, was appointed as the Vice President by Sefa Özdemir in the TGK board meeting. Ergun Ata was appointed as the General Secretary, Ersen Küçük as the Financial Secretary, and Cem Kaytan, Erdoğan Erişen, Feridun Fazıl Özsoy, Gaye Coşkun, O. Hakan Kiracı, Mehmet Çelik, and Mehmet Ergün were elected as Vice Presidents. Ali Cihangir, Ali Filizkan, Atilla Durak, Derya Sarılarlı, Ercan Atay, İdris Taş, Osman Koca, and Vahap Güner served as board members. Sinan Tunç was appointed as the TGK General Coordinator, Mevlüt Yeni as the TGK Foreign Relations General Coordinator, and the TGK Board of Directors alternate members were Abdullah Alpağ, Cengiz Selci, Deniz Başlı, İhsan Uluözlü, Müjdat Çetin, Nihat Mazmanoğlu, Osman Nuri Boyacı, and Ümit Özmen. The TGK Audit Board consisted of Arif Kurt, Halis Olcay, and Seda Köktener, while Bilal Bölükbaşı, Hande Nur Uysal, and İlyas Bayraktar were elected as alternate members of the Audit Board. The committees for the 2024 – 2027 term of the Turkey Journalists Confederation were formed as follows; TGK Honorary Board President: Nazmi Bilgin, with members such as Ali Er, Erkan Sağlam, Osman Baykuş, Ahmet Duran Yenigün, İhsan Tunçoğlu, Sezer Küçükkurt, Alpaslan Düzgün, Kürşat Tuncel, Şevket Erzen, Aytekin Polatel, Mehmet Emin Turpçu, T. Fikret Sönmez, Bekir Bayram, Metin Kaya, Tahir Gülebak, Cengiz Demirel, Muhittin Karahan, Vahap Şehitoğlu, Emrullah Özbey, Zeki Alkan, Okan Sarıkaya, and Zeki Dışkaya. TGK Press Ethics Board President was Sezai Ballı, with members including Aydın Besen, Hüsnü Acar, Orhan Karagöl, Aydın Deniz, Mert Minisker, Serkan Göktürk, Ayhan Polat, Murat Atay, Sezai Köprülü, Cihan Okur, Mustafa Baş, Yargıç Harmankaya, Hafize Akıncı, Mustafa Emen, Yaşar Karatay, and Hüseyin Atılgan. TGK High Advisory Board President was Mustafa Arslan, with members such as Aleattin Aslan, Emrah Yıldırım, Mahmut Arda, Aslan Deveboynu, Güngör Yavuzarslan, Mesut Fidançiçek, Barış Yalçınkaya, Fatih Sevinç, Murat Okutmuş, Birol Bebek, Hüseyin Oğuz, Nihal Karaman, Diyap Atar, İhsan Özdemir, Ömer Faruk Demirok, Elif Şentürk, Levent Silistre, Ramazan Demir, Emine Ballı, M. Erkan Yılmaz, and Şeref Yaşar.
