Governor of Canakkale, Ilhami Aktaş, participated in the Turkish Cuisine Week event, which was initiated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, based on the book ‘Turkish Cuisine with Centennial Recipes’.

Governor of Çanakkale, Ilhami Aktaş, attended the Turkish Cuisine Week event, which was realized based on the book ‘Turkish Cuisine with Centennial Recipes’ by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan. Under the auspices of the Çanakkale Governorship and the coordination of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, a breakfast program where local flavors of Çanakkale were served was attended by Governor Ilhami Aktaş, along with the President of the Gallipoli Historical Area of the Çanakkale Battles, Ismail Kaşdemir, Deputy Mayor of Çanakkale, Metin Değirmeci, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Sadi Akman, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Çağman Esirgemez, Vice Rectors of ÇOMÜ Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal, Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya, General Secretary of the Provincial Special Administration Celil Sezgin, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at ÇOMÜ Prof. Dr. Mustafa Boz, President of the Çanakkale Chamber of Agriculture Ufuk Ünver, provincial directors, tourism professionals, academicians, representatives of institutions, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and invitees. Starting from the year 2022, the ‘Turkish Cuisine Week’ celebrated with remarkable events in Turkey and worldwide from May 21 to 27, showcased regional products such as cheese from Ezine, chickpea bread from Geyikli, and local products like olives, honey, cream, and paste produced in Çanakkale at a breakfast event held at a restaurant in the Anadolu Hamidiye Fort. Governor Ilhami Aktaş, who received information about the regional products served from the chefs, expressed his happiness at being part of the Çanakkale breakfast during the Turkish Cuisine Week, thanking everyone who contributed to enriching and branding the gastronomy of Çanakkale. The event concluded after the tasting of the regional delicacies.
