Production is carried out in 150 cages at Tercan Dam

Cage fish farming in Tercan Dam Lake located in the Tercan district of Erzincan continues to grow and develop. Currently, a total of 8 businesses are operating in the lake. In Tercan Dam Lake, 8 businesses are engaged in fish farming in a total of 150 cages. The annual production capacity of the dam lake has exceeded 3 thousand tons. In Erzincan, where the sub-sectors of agriculture are rapidly developing, aquaculture is becoming increasingly widespread. Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Director Murat Şahin visited the businesses engaged in cage fish farming in Tercan Dam Lake. Providing information about aquaculture, Erzincan Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Şahin stated that the total annual production capacity of the 8 businesses producing trout in Tercan Dam Lake has exceeded 3 thousand tons, and production continues in a total of 150 cages. Provincial Director Şahin noted that the aquaculture sector is on the rise in Erzincan. He said, ‘Our efforts to increase the production capacity in Erzincan are ongoing. Our Ministry prioritizes sustainability in facilities engaged in aquaculture, and we value the sustainability of these facilities in every aspect. Environmentally friendly production techniques are used in these facilities, meaning production is carried out without causing any harm to the environment.’ Erzincan Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Şahin pointed out that aquaculture is increasing day by day nationwide and emphasized that a similar development is taking place in Erzincan parallel to the sector’s development in the country. Getting information from the representatives of the businesses engaged in aquaculture in Tercan Dam Lake, Provincial Director Murat Şahin stated that these businesses contribute to both the national economy and the economy of Erzincan.
