Mayor Bozbey: ‘There are trolls within the municipality, I will find them and take necessary actions’

Criticism regarding the appointment of relatives dominated the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council meeting. Speaking in response to the expectation of an explanation from the AK Party council members, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey stated, ‘What we are doing is right. All of our colleagues are qualified. They have achieved successful results in Nilüfer in the previous term. I am saying it very clearly. There are trolls within the municipality as well. They will all be identified and necessary actions will be taken. Do not worry. Next month, I will also share the list of relatives.’ The Metropolitan Council convened. AK Party Council Members who spoke at the meeting said, ‘I would like to speak about the appointments that were on the agenda in Turkey last week. A news piece stating that the appointments in CHP-led municipalities, which CHP Leader Özgür Özel said ‘they will all be rescinded,’ are not valid for Bursa became a trend on social media. We want to hear an explanation from you on this matter.’ President Mustafa Bozbey also said, ‘I made the statement in the meeting. I made it very clear. All of our colleagues are qualified and they have achieved success in Nilüfer in the previous term. Let’s start with merit. I am saying it very clearly. As for the other issue, at the beginning of next month, I will provide you with a list. Who is whose relative, who is whose friend is a different matter. They can write, thousands of people can write differently. You are also aware of the trolls. You are also aware of the behavior of trolls. They exist within the municipality as well. They will be identified too. I am saying it very clearly. These trolls exist within the municipality. All these trolls will be identified and necessary actions will be taken, do not worry. The matter is closed. What we are doing is right. We stand behind it. After all, this decision has been shared with the public. The issue is simple, it is a matter that will not give rise to debate. No one should worry. Competent and qualified individuals who have previously performed this job with quality, made people in Nilüfer happy for years, have taken office. We set out to make the people in Bursa happy as well. Soon, the people of Bursa will start smiling. We are not engaging in politics. Everything will eventually come to light on its own.’
