Guidance activities by course center teachers affiliated with the Social Services Department of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality have been intensified for students preparing for the High School Transition Exam (LGS) and the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Throughout the year, students preparing for LGS and YKS at course centers spanning from Tarsus to Anamur are focusing on subjects through rapid question solving. Students taking daily trials under the supervision of course center teachers are overcoming time management problems they may experience during the exam through these trials. Course center teachers quickly analyze the questions students answered incorrectly or left blank after the trials. The Metropolitan Municipality continues to support students in every stage of their education, both before and after the exam.
With the guidance service provided, students’ exam anxiety is alleviated. Duygu Çeviker, serving as a guidance counselor at the Education and Training Support Course Centers affiliated with the Social Services Department, stated that they have started guidance activities on what to pay attention to before the exam in all course centers. She recommended that in the remaining time before the exam, students should focus on topics they can excel in by practicing rather than wasting time on time-consuming and difficult subjects. She emphasized that if there are no serious deficiencies in the topics, solving plenty of questions and daily trial practices will be very efficient in controlling trial stress and ensuring time management. Daily timed trials will accelerate students’ question-solving skills, allowing them to use their time more efficiently and alleviating the anxiety of meeting the exam deadline.
Çeviker noted that they are with students throughout the preparation process for the exam, stating, “By starting rapid trials in our course centers, we provide our students with a real exam environment. Additionally, we aim to prevent possible setbacks on the exam day. Furthermore, with trial analyses and question-solving sessions after the trials, we quickly identify and provide the necessary support for students to complete their deficiencies. Rapid topic reviews and revisiting key information will also contribute to our students during this process. We continue to support our students and parents throughout the entire exam process. We wish them success in the exam.
