President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s question to Togg, ‘Can you also make an armored one?’ caught the attention of Entrepreneur Ismail Essiz, who is engaged in vehicle armoring business in Ankara’s Ostim Organized Industrial Zone. Essiz decided to apply the armored system they developed for high threats to the domestic and national Togg vehicle.
Unique Armoring Technology
Starting vehicle armoring business 23 years ago, Ismail Essiz states that they produce vehicles that do not experience performance loss thanks to the secret armoring system they have developed. Essiz, who applied armor to the fully electric structure of Togg for the first time, states that by armoring the vehicle at BR4 level, they provide protection against high threats.
The next Togg armoring process at the facility in Ankara will be designed to cover the interior of the cabin with armor 360 degrees. In addition, a bomb blanket will be placed on the bottom surface. After armoring, there is no change in Togg’s range, while it will provide resistance to BR4 level pistol bullets and BR6 level long-barreled firearms.
The first Togg’s armoring process took 45 days. Essiz mentions that after completing the R&D studies, the next Togg will be of higher quality and more professional, and they aim to complete this process in an average of 20-25 days.
According to Ismail Essiz, the armoring process has started to attract demand among Togg owners. Essiz says that currently 6 vehicles are in the process of armoring and emphasizes that they plan to provide quick service to waiting customers.
