About the Project:

As part of the ‘Solar Car Presentations’ project, miniature vehicles powered by solar energy produced by students from Izmir Karabağlar Atatürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and international students were exhibited in Konak Square. The project aims to develop students’ imagination and technical skills.

Students’ Working Process:

Project coordinator Uğur Çelik stated that students collaborated to produce their vehicles by combining their basic knowledge of electrical-electronics, coding, and materials. It was emphasized that students conducted collaborative work instead of competition-oriented activities.

Vehicles Made by Students:

Students produced vehicles powered by solar energy from unused materials. Alptekin Tez, a teacher at Kınık Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, explained that students’ self-designed vehicles were charged with solar energy and could move at a speed of 30 km/h for 6 hours.

  • Student Cintitâ Mateo Marian from Romania mentioned that he could direct the solar panel of his portable vehicle in any direction and charge the battery with the charging unit to operate it.
  • 11th-grade student Alperen Egen shared that their vehicle made from waste materials was processed with laser CNC, and they operated the vehicle using a solar panel and special systems.
