The First Journey of the Highly Anticipated Train Line
The first journey of the Istanbul-Sivas High-Speed Train line, eagerly awaited by the people of Sivas, has taken place. The train, which departed from Istanbul Söğütlüçeşme station in the morning, is expected to arrive at Sivas train station in the afternoon.
Attendance to the Opening Ceremony
The Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Train Line, reducing the transportation time from Ankara to Sivas to 2 hours, was inaugurated on April 26, 2023, with the participation of Vice President Fuat Oktay. Today, the Istanbul-Sivas High-Speed Train line departed from Söğütlüçeşme train station at 08:40 for its first journey. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz and other officials.
Features of the High-Speed Train
In his speech, Deputy Minister Osman Boyraz emphasized the importance of the line that shortens the distance between Ankara and Sivas, mentioning important stops such as Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızelili, and Sivas. The introduction of express services without transfer between Sivas and Istanbul by high-speed trains has significantly contributed to the travel convenience for the citizens.
