Neighborhood meetings in Marmaris started in Icmeler.

The first of the ‘Neighborhood Meetings’ initiated by Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü to manage the district with common sense and determine the future of the city through participatory democracy was held in the İçmeler Neighborhood.

The first of the Neighborhood Meetings, which is one of Mayor Acar Ünlü’s election promises, was held in İçmeler Neighborhood with the slogan “We listen on-site, we solve together.” In the neighborhood meetings organized to listen to citizens individually and provide solutions to their demands with a participatory, transparent, and people-oriented approach, Mayor Ünlü met with the residents of İçmeler last night. The neighborhood headman of İçmeler, Ali Demirtaş, the headman of Gölenye, İbrahim İşler, and council members also attended the neighborhood meeting, where municipal department heads were present as well. During the event held at Cumhuriyet Square, the residents of İçmeler expressed their concerns, issues, and requests regarding their neighborhood, while Mayor Acar Ünlü sincerely answered all questions one by one and directed department heads for further investigation. In the meeting, where demands such as cleanliness, roads, cultural activities, and sports areas were voiced, Mayor Ünlü also talked about the works to be carried out in the upcoming winter season.

Providing information about the works carried out since they took office after the local elections on March 31, Mayor Ünlü stated, “The ideas shared in the meeting we held to determine the steps we will take for the future of İçmeler and to draw our roadmap, the demands expressed, and the proposed solutions are very valuable to us. We have taken note of all of them to work on. I thank you for your participation and hospitality.”

Stating that the meetings will continue in all neighborhoods, Acar Ünlü said, “We will work hard for our district with a transparent, participatory, people-oriented, and common sense-based understanding of municipal management. During this process, our biggest helper and guide will again be our people. We will continue to strive for a stronger and more beautiful Marmaris together.” and completed his remarks.
