Ibrahim Bölükbaşı, the Olympic champion who won a gold medal for our country in judo at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, visited the Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Levent Çakmur, to share his success.

Ibrahim Bölükbaşı, who brought home a gold medal in judo for our country at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, shared his achievement with Levent Çakmur, the Provincial Director of Youth and Sports in Erzurum. The national athlete presented a Crescent-Star jersey to Director Çakmur during the visit. Wrestling referee Fatih Hikmet Sevim was also present at the meeting. Sharing his success story with Çakmur, Olympic champion Bölükbaşı expressed his happiness for bringing great pride to Erzurum and Turkey.

“I fulfilled my dream of becoming an Olympic champion”

Bölükbaşı expressed his pride in being the Olympic champion in the Paralympics and stated that he narrowly missed the chance to win a medal in the wrestling category at the 2012 London Summer Olympics and the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

The national athlete said, “Bringing an Olympic medal to my country and my hometown Erzurum was my biggest dream. I have reached this goal and dream, thank God.”

Çakmur: Ibrahim is our source of pride

Erzurum Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Levent Çakmur stated that he was very pleased with the visit from Ibrahim Bölükbaşı and Fatih Hikmet Sevim, emphasizing that the Olympic championship he brought to Erzurum is very meaningful. He said, “Ibrahim Bölükbaşı has made history for our province and country as an Olympic champion. I congratulate him once again and wish him continued success.”

After the visit, Olympic champion judoka Ibrahim Bölükbaşı presented a national team jersey to Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Levent Çakmur.
