The Interbank Card Center has renewed the Public Payment Gateway infrastructure, which enables public institutions to receive payments via e-Government quickly and securely, by completely transferring it to its own software resources.
The Interbank Card Center (BKM) has renewed the infrastructure of the ‘Public Payment Gateway’ service, which was launched in 2014 and allows a large number of institutions working for the public good, especially public institutions, to receive payments with bank cards, credit cards, or prepaid cards. Thanks to the new infrastructure developed entirely with BKM’s own resources, public institutions can now receive card payments much faster, while citizens can benefit from the service without interruptions and securely.
According to the statement, a total of 180 different institutions, including important entities such as the Social Security Institution (SGK), Revenue Administration (GİB), General Directorate of Highways – HGS, General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, Museum Card, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, highway companies, municipalities and their affiliates, and recently including organizations working for the public good such as the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), Turkish Red Crescent, and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, are receiving payments over the internet with this infrastructure. All institutions included in the Public Payment Gateway, which ensures the fast and secure execution of payments, benefit from the service free of charge. Thanks to this infrastructure, institutions providing public services have gained the flexibility to quickly start working with any card-accepting organization of their choice, while also saving on additional costs such as infrastructure maintenance and cost per transaction. Paying citizens and company representatives can easily and securely make payments using any card, including TROY cards, from all banks through this system.
With the new structure, integration processes between institutions and banks have also been facilitated. The complete renewal of the Public Payment Gateway infrastructure within BKM and the developed flexible infrastructure shorten the time required for the implementation of innovations and improvements that will be needed over time. The service can adapt much more easily to modern solutions, increase efficiency in digital payments with user-friendly solutions, and address requests in a much more effective and faster manner. This system, which provides a very valuable service infrastructure for Turkey, a global leader in digital payment and collection systems, carries significance in delivering services at international standards and ensuring the continuity of advancements in digital payment solutions.
It is very easy to join the Public Payment Gateway. Institutions wishing to benefit from the infrastructure that makes card payment processes fast and secure can directly integrate with BKM. Additionally, they can also integrate with TÜRKSAT to carry out their collections through the e-Government portal (turkiye.gov.tr). Citizens, when they want to make a payment through the online collection area on the relevant institution’s website or through the page opened specifically for the relevant institution via the e-Government channel, are automatically redirected to the Payment Gateway screens to complete their payments.
Thanks to the ‘Public Payment Gateway’ service, institutions that can also work in coordination with other BKM products optimize integration costs for all stakeholders while achieving operational efficiency by simplifying their servers and continuing to carry out their transactions.
