In Antalya, the ‘Iron Man’ competition was contested by 80 countries.

Antalya hosted the Ironman 70.3 Championships, with the participation of 2,000 athletes from 80 countries.

The Ironman 70.3 races, one of the prestigious triathlon organizations in the world, were held in Belek with the participation of 2,000 athletes from 80 countries. The competition, which combines three different disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running, provided athletes with a challenging arena while offering unforgettable moments to the spectators. The event was attended by Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin and his wife Ebru Şahin, Deputy Governor Tahsin Aksu, Serik District Governor Cemal Şahin, Serik Mayor Kadir Kumbul, Acting Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Buğrahan Bozkurt, athletes, and citizens.

The race, which was started by Antalya Deputy Governor Tahsin Aksu, Serik District Governor Cemal Şahin, Serik Mayor Kadir Kumbul, and other protocol members, began with the swimming stage. After that, the athletes transitioned to the cycling course and finally completed the race by finishing the running stage.

Significant role in promoting Antalya

Governor Şahin stated that the Ironman 70.3 races greatly contribute to the promotion of Antalya, saying, “The Ironman 70.3 Championships, held for ten years, welcomed more than 2,000 participants from 80 countries in Antalya this year. This organization has been an invaluable promotion and sports festival for Side, Serik, and Antalya. This event, which grows day by day, will achieve even better things in the future. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this event.”

During the award ceremony, the awards were presented to the winning male and female athletes by Governor Hulusi Şahin and the protocol committee.
