Mother’s Day Mobility in the Tableware Sector
The tableware sector in Turkey has a size of 12 billion dollars and is among the top 5 sectors with a trade surplus. Also, the tableware sector, which is one of the most branded sectors, has an important place in the domestic market. The strong dowry culture in Turkey and changing trends support the mobility in the sector.
International Collaborations in the Tableware Sector
Mesut Öksüz, the President of the Tableware Association, states that the sector increases its sales momentum in the domestic market especially during Mother’s Day and wedding shopping periods. Öksüz emphasizes that the ‘International Home and Kitchenware Manufacturer-Brand Summit’ event they organized to support sector growth contributed 20% to the sector.
Öksüz also mentions that many local and foreign purchasing companies from different countries around the world participate in their summits and that these events make significant contributions to the promotion of the Turkish tableware sector internationally. He points out that Turkey ranks 8th among the largest exporters worldwide and that exports to EU countries are the locomotive of the sector.
The President of the Tableware Association states that the quality of Turkish products and the branding process make the sector strong internationally and that Turkish companies have successful firms recognized worldwide in the glass, porcelain, steel, and plastic fields. In this respect, he emphasizes that there are no barriers to achieving the sector’s goals and that the sector has a continuous growth potential.
